About Kywong
Situated in Nelson, Victoria, Kywong Caravan Park is nestled among the tranquil bush land of the Lower Glenelg National Park. Being part of a State Forest, there is a no pets allowed policy at all times. We are only a stones throw from the river, which makes our park a great hub for families, adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts and those just trying to escape busy city life. We have 11 cabins, 63 powered sites, 18 unpowered sites as well as a 40 general unpowered camping sites. Much like Nelson Township, the park is generally quiet and has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We aim to provide a great holiday experience so that travellers of all kinds can enjoy the outdoors
Community
Kywong Caravan Park is unique as it is a community based operation. The park is run by a not-for-profit organisation with proceeds invested back into the local township to make it more enjoyable for residents and tourists alike.
Conservation
Because we are located in national park, we have a few things to consider. We ask that all guests be respectful of the park facilities, surrounding bush land as well as any local animals you may come across. To protect the township, flora and fauna we adhere to State Legislation regarding fire ban season, and subsequently we do not allow fires in the park during December through to April. From May through to November campfires are permitted in the park, but must be in one of our designated fire pits or contained above ground in a fire bucket. These restrictions can change so please ask staff for more information. Fires can become uncontrolled and pose a great risk to protected species, other guests as well as local residents. We have great cooking facilities in our camp kitchen which are free to use at any time.
